How to maintain ukulele
1、 Most critical: Temperature and humidity (determining lifespan)
Optimal humidity: 40% to 60%
Don't put:
direct sunlight
Heating/air conditioning vents
Exposure to sunlight in the car
Wet areas in the bathroom
Too dry can cause cracking and damage; Being too wet can cause deformation and mold.
2、 Placement and storage
When not playing: put it in the piano bag/case
Try to stand upright or hang on the wall, and do not lean against the wall for a long time
Avoid bumps and falls, the ukulele is light but also brittle
3、 String maintenance
Newcomers should change their strings every 1-3 months, and the sound will become much brighter
After playing, you can wipe the string with a dry cloth to prevent sweat and rust
String discoloration, blackening, and dull tone=it's time to change
4、 Qin body cleaning
Wipe the dust with a clean soft cloth
Fingerprint oil stains: Use a very small amount of water or specialized guitar care oil
Do not use alcohol, disinfectant, or detergent to wipe wood

5、 Fingerboard maintenance
Fingerboard is dirty: wipe with a dry cloth
Dry season: once every six months with finger board oil (lemon oil/care oil)
Don't put too much on it, it will stick to your hands
6、 What if I don't play for a long time
Loosen the string a little bit (not completely)
Put it in the piano case and add desiccant
Regularly take it out for ventilation and tuning
7、 Daily habits
Wash hands before playing the piano, sweat and oil are the most harmful to the instrument
Don't forcefully twist the strings, tune gently
Do not press, sit, or break the neck of the qin
Simple note: Moisture proof, sun proof, drop proof, frequent wiping, frequent string changing. Your ukulele will always have a pleasant sound and online appearance
